Join Us-For Parenting Magazine's Fit Generation 5K Run/Walk and Family Festival. Bring the entire family out to enjoy healthy and fun activities. Help fight childhood obesity and get fit as a family!

The morning will kick off with the D-Tag timed 5K run through the streets of Winter Park, FL.  Following the 5K run will be the 5K stroller roll, a fun way to exercise with your little one. 

The culmination of the races will be the Kids Fun Run and Diaper Dash, held in the Winter Park Village. This is a great way for every child to be a winner and participate in morning exercise. 

After the morning race and fun run, stick around for the post-race party. There will be a HUGE post-race food buffet, FREE t-shirts for all participants, raffle prizes for all runners, and prize drawings for everyone. All of these offerings will be set in the middle of live music, children's entertainment, healthy exhibits for the entire family, and open for the general public to enjoy.

Y Kids Care!

Let the YMCA provide you peace of mind while you race!  Children ages 4-9 are welcome to participate in outdoor games and projects while you race.  Activities will be provided by trained and caring YMCA staff.   Y Kids Care will be available from 7 AM – 9 AM weather permitting.  Preregistration required by emailing boliver@cfymca.org before 9/11/10.  Y Kid’s Care will be located in the grassy area by the main stage.  Parents dropping off the children must be prepared to leave identification to be used for pick-up safety.   Questions can be referred to Meghan Gruszynski at 407-571-4839.

Exclusive Fit Generation awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in every age group of the 5K race.  Every participant in the Kids Fun Run & Diaper Dash will be awarded a winner’s ribbon.

Kids 10 & under are free to enter the Kids Fun Run & Diaper Dash. The run teaches kids that running is a fun and healthy lifetime activity. All kids are encouraged to enter, this is an event where everyone is a winner. Each participant will receive a complimentary finisher’s ribbon as well as a t-shirt.

-SeaWorld Animal Ambassadors

SeaWorld's Animal Ambassadors will be live on-site at the event to entertain, educate, and inspire animal conservation into kids and the community.  Bring your family and friends out to experience firsthand some of the unique animals that occupy this planet with us. 

-Children's Entertainer: Mr. Richard

With sing-along tunes about fish, skunks, cool snakes and girl pilots, Mr. Richard plays music for hip kids.  Mr. Richard will be performing live on our main stage area.  He will be sure to get you and your kids moving to his fun kids music.

Fit Generation is the perfect place to meet other active families and friends within the community. Whether you end up rolling your stroller next to a neighbor, meeting a new friend at our children’s interactive area, or discussing parenting strategies with Parenting magazine’s experts, Fit Generation is a great way to get out, get fit, and meet new people.

Fit Generation is not just another 5K run, it is a family experience. Be sure to stick around post-race to enjoy and celebrate fitness by engaging in fitness games, personal trainers, massage therapists, Parenting Magazine experts, and children’s entertainers.
